Route development

Routes built over two decades

Over two decades, Tiger Trail has managed trail logistics, village homestays, and river permits in Laos. Routes were developed with local guides and host villages in the valleys where each expedition runs.

Local guides were born and trained in the provincial valleys where expeditions take place. Their knowledge shapes each route, from river crossings to village stops.

How we run every trip

01

Safety protocol

Each trip follows a written safety plan covering river crossings, weather checks, and emergency routes.

02

Guide medical training

Guides complete first-aid training, and every group carries a supplied medical kit on the trail.

03

Equipment maintenance

Boats, ropes, and camping gear are inspected and repaired between expeditions.

04

Leave-no-trace trails

Groups pack out all waste, use established campsites, and keep village water sources clean.
